Genistein Scientific Consulting offers a wide range of services to scientists and other professionals. Services include, but are not limited to:

Scientific consulting:

  • Study design or data analysis, especially related to food and nutrition including:
    • Sensory analysis,
    • Assessment of physical properties of food or packaging (e.g., structure at the molecular level, quantitative texture, colorimetric analyses),
    • How nutrient levels may change during storage,
    • Statistical analyses,
    • Meta-analyses;
    • Design of clinical studies or animal experiments
  • Development of applications for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC);
  • Content editing for grants, manuscripts, and theses; and
  • Completion and submission of manuscripts.

Scientific writing and editing:

  • Composing, orchestrating, and editing grants, abstracts, theses, and manuscripts;
    • I have experience working with post-doctoral fellowships (e.g., NIH’s NRSA/F32, USDA’s AFRI/NIFA), R awards, K awards, and institutional grants.
    • I have experience rewriting grants and manuscripts written by more than one author so that they read as one coherent document;
  • Summarizing technical documents and primary literature;
  • Rewriting technical literature into layman’s terms; and
  • Writing other various technical documents
    • For example, I have written strategic rationales from the department chair to the dean for potential new hires and have prepared handouts for conference attendees.
